Hastings resident, Ada J. Cook, 92, of Village Green, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Graveside service will Friday, April 6, 2007; 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2007; 9AM-5PM & Friday, April 6, 2007; 9AM-1:30PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cook was born August 7, 1914 in St. Clair County, Missouri to Robert & Samantha (Carroll) Jones. She moved with her family to El Dorado, Kansas in 1917 and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1932. On August 21, 1933, she married Roy A. Cook and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1992. She was secretary/bookkeeper for McClure-Waggy Ford Garage, retiring in 1988. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1989. She was a past Matron of Chapter #93 Order of Eastern Star & secretary for 18 years. She was also past President of Social Order of Beauceant, past Worthy High Priestess of Queen Esther Shrine, all in El Dorado, Kansas.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, son-in-law, Larry Thompson, grandson, Jim Cook, four sisters and five brothers.
