Adeline was born April 27, 1921 in Hastings, Nebraska to Oliver & Mae Edith (Burkholder) Magner, Sr. She attended school at Morton Elementary, Hastings Middle School, and finally at Hastings Senior High where she graduated in 1938. Adeline met her lifelong love, Cecil Leroy Knephoff while still in high school at a local dance and they were married on October 16, 1940 in Mankato, Kansas. The two lived in Clay Center for a time early in the marriage as Cecil worked for the railroad. They also spent time traveling while Cecil was in the Army. The couple finally settled in Hastings, and enjoyed a beautiful home in town where they raised their family. Adeline was a member of the First Christian Church where she and Cecil spent much time along with their family. She was also a member of the Burlington Northern Railroad Retired Association. Adeline's life was focused around her family; she was always there for Cecil and for her children as a homemaker and stay at home mother. The couple valued the education their children would get from traveling so they enjoyed many summer vacations and the experiences of traveling together. Adeline moved from her home in February 2012 to Perkins with Cecil as his health declined. After Cecil's death on June 4, 2012, she moved to Homestead Assisted Living where she remained until the time of her passing.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil L. Knephoff; sisters, Corline Bobenko and Mary Hoagland; and one brother, Oliver Magner, Jr.
