Hastings resident, Alan Byron Jorgensen, 81, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Committal with military rites will be in Minden Cemetery, Minden, Nebraska on Saturday, January 17, 2015; 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hastings Symphony. No viewing or visitation.
Alan was born March 14, 1933 in Kearney County, Nebraska to Byron David & Ethel Christine (Ostergaard) Jorgensen. He graduated from Minden High School in 1951 and attended Hastings College for four years. Alan served with the U.S. Army from August 12, 1953 until May 27, 1955. He worked in the dietary department at the Hastings Regional Center until his retirement and was a piano instructor. Alan was a member of Kiwanis and Danish Brotherhood Lodge in Minden.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale; sister, Virginia Christensen; and nephew, Steven K. Christensen.
