Alberta Kulhanek

Services will be Saturday, September 8, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Juniata Community Church or Crossroads Center Rescue Mission. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., and Saturday, September 8, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Alberta V. Kulhanek was born on May 13, 1920 to Lorin Sr. and Alice (Ludwig) Haskin in Roca, Nebraska. She graduated from Endicott High School in 1937. Alberta married George Kulhanek Sr. on December 30, 1937 in Washington, Kansas; he preceded her in death on September 14, 1991. They were blessed with seven children, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Alberta and George raised their family in Hastings, Nebraska. Her interests were diverse and she was especially accomplished as an artist and a seamstress. Later in life she was an active member of Juniata Community Church. She was the last of her immediate family, her husband, mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters having preceded her in death.

She will be affectionately remembered by her children and their spouses, as well as the many people whose lives she touched:
