Alice Payne

Former Hastings resident, Alice Margaret (Grace) Payne, 73, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Friday, January 25, 2002 at Tabitha Health Care, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary service will be Tuesday, January 29, 2002; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 30, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Michael Houlihan, Father David F. Bourek and Father Milton Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Alice M. Payne was born January 21, 1929 in Delia, Kansas to Thomas J. & Bernadette (McMullen) Grace. She graduated from Delia High School. On February 9, 1957, she married William M. Payne at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka, Kansas and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1996. She moved to Hastings, Nebraska from Topeka, Kansas in 1969. She was a teller at Norwest Bank and a paraprofessional at Hastings Senior High, both in Hastings, Nebraska. She was a past member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska and a present member of St. Peter's Church, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Alice M. Payne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William M. Payne, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
