Amanda Schreiner

Former Hastings resident, Amanda K. Schreiner, 26, passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, November 14, 2009 after a short battle with what is believed to be H1N1.

Mandi chose to give her organs to science so others may live. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a scholarship fund being set up in Amanda's name for nursing students at Central Community College. Please make checks payable to the CCC Foundation.

Amanda grew up in Hastings. She attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Hastings Senior High School before attending Central Community College, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and graduated from Grand Canyon University Phoenix with a bachelor's degree in Health and Nursing. She had worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray & Arlene Schreiner; and grandfather, Jim Orr.
