Hastings resident Andrew M. “Andy” Sidlo, 46, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Hastings, NE.
Services honoring Andy will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, at New Hope Baptist Church in Hastings with Pastor Eddie Goff and Pastor Harold Holder officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a late date.
Andy was born on January 13, 1978, to Michael and Cynthia (Alexander) Sidlo in Hastings, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1996 and then from Southeast Community College – Milford in 1998 with a degree in Tool and Die. Andy was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1996. While in Boy Scouts Andy attended several High Adventure Camps including Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Philmont Scout Ranch. Andy was a Little League baseball coach for several years. Andy was a member of the Four Rivers Sportsman Club and was an avid archer, hunter, and fisherman. He enjoyed working with his son Isaac on Isaac’s F-150 and teaching Alyscia, Lauran, and Isaac all how to shoot a bow as soon as they were five years old. He married Stephanie Thompson on June 9, 2001, in Hastings, NE.
Over the years, Andy worked as a mold maker in tool shops in Alda, Grand Island, Kearney, and Hastings and ended his career in a position where he found a true passion for helping others as a 3D Project Engineer for Innovative Prosthetics and Shabri, a company located in Hastings.
Andy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Wanda Sidlo and Stanley and Phyliss Alexander; infant sister, Sarah June; and his two dogs, Luke and Jake.
