Antoinette Billesbach

Hastings resident Antoinette Marie "Toni" Billesbach, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018, with her family by her side at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Rosary is 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation is 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Public Library or Knights of Columbus TV Mass Fund.

Toni was born December 19, 1926, to Edward & Loretta (Hoffman) Portz in Juniata, NE. She attended Assumption grade school near Roseland and graduated from Roseland High School in 1945. Toni was employed at the Naval Ammunition Depot in the 1940's and later at Mary Lanning Hospital.

Toni married John J. Billesbach, son of Fred & Isabelle Billesbach of Heartwell, NE, on June 3, 1947, at Assumption Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on May 28, 2000. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, charter member of Hastings Quilters Guild, Saints Quilting Group, and Granny Squares. Toni was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and was an award-winning quilter. She enjoyed crafting and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John J. Billesbach; son, Daniel John; daughter, Dianne Marie; brothers, Richard, Kenneth, and Jack; and sister, Elaine.
