Arlene Laux

July 10, 1924 — May 4, 2003

Arlene Laux, 78, of 925 Sycamore, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, May 7, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt & Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Arlene Laux was born July 10, 1924 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Edward & Bertha (Goedert) Schnase. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska on August 3, 1924 . She moved to Adams County, Nebraska in 1932 and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Doniphan, Nebraska on May 16, 1937. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1941 and worked for Hastings Typewriter until 1943. On September 25, 1943, she married Robert Laux in Miami, Florida, where he was stationed with the United States Navy. She lived in Boston, Massachusetts for one year during WWII. After his discharge, they moved to the Hastings, Nebraska area where they farmed. In 1988, they moved into Hastings. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Priscilla Circle. She was a volunteer for many years at Perkins Pavilion at Good Samaritan Village.

Arlene Laux was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial may be given to Faith Lutheran Church

Wed. 5-7-03; 9am until noon at BVFH
Wed. 5-7-03; 1 hr. prior at the church
