Arnold Engel

Arnold L. Engel, 83, of 618 W. 33rd, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Friday, April 9, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Frank Kerkemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Engel was born August 4, 1920 in Inland, Nebraska to Fred & Almuth (Flesner) Engel. He graduated from Inland High School and attended Nebraska College of Commerce in Hastings, Nebraska. On August 2, 1940 he married Evelyn N. Hansen and she preceded him in death on October 17, 1999. He began his career in construction in 1948 with Engel Construction. He later was owner/operator of Engel Lumber and Supply. After the sale of his company, he resumed construction of homes with the partnership of his son until his death. He married Lillian (Osler) Baumann. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Engel was preceded in death by his parents and his 1st wife Evelyn.
