Arthur L. Johns, 72, of Hastings, Nebraska, died there on Friday, August 30, 2002.

Rosary service will be Tuesday, September 3, 2002; 8:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 4, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Arthur L. Johns was born January 9, 1930 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Samuel C. & Mary (Triola) Johns. He graduated from Meadville High School in 1946. He served in the United States Air Force from September 1950 to August 1970. Mr. Johns served as a Control Tower Operator in the Korean War, a fighter pilot in Germany, and a Titan missile-launch officer in Colorado, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. On October 25, 1952, he married Gerardine Brown in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1966, he received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Omaha University. After his discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska where he taught at Central Nebraska Technical Community College, worked for Midwest Distributing and owned and operated Golden Triangle Lumber Company, retiring in 1996. .

Arthur L. Johns was preceded in death by his parents, a small son, Stephen G. Johns and 3 sisters, Josephine Wendaur, Roseanne Trefiletti, and Jane Damico.
