Hastings resident, Arthur S. 'Art' Kitten, 68, of 148 Ringland Road, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Thursday, January 8, 2009; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 9, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Christopher Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2009; with family present, 5PM-9PM and Thursday, January 8, 2009; 9AM-9PM at the funeral home and Friday, January 9, 2009, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice or Morrison Cancer Center.
Mr. Kitten was born July 3, 1940 in Lawrence, Nebraska to Ed & Ella (Verkamp) Kitten. He graduated from Lawrence High School and married Carolyn F. Schutte at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence on October 16, 1962. He was a lineman for the Nebraska Public Power District and then owned and operated Kitty's Bar since 1972. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus. He was a lifetime Lawrence & Hastings resident.
Mr. Kitten was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vernon & LeRoy.
