Hastings resident, Barbara Lyllian Bauer, 85, of 204 North Kerr, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at her home.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 1, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to donor's choice in Barbara's name. No visitation or viewing.
Mrs. Bauer was born January 31, 1923 in New York, New York to Nicholas and Eva Lucas. She graduated from Long Island High School and attended an interior design college. She started dancing at the age of three and danced at Radio City Hall in New York as a Rockette. She moved to Miami and met and married Robert Lee Bauer Sr. on February 3, 1945. Soon after, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska and owned and operated Walt's Conoco Service Station for 36 years. Barbara and her husband were Nebraska football ticket holders since 1952 and were part of the Mobile Nobles. Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death on April 26, 1982. She was past president of the PTA and Daughters of the Nile. Barbara was a friend to all.
Mrs. Bauer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Lee and three sisters.
