Barbara Martinez

Hastings resident, Barbara B. Martinez, 56, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Visitation with family receiving friends and relatives will be Thursday, August 30, 2012, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Butler Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Barbara was born December 3, 1955 in Gilroy, California to Ellsworth & Rose (Blondo) Barton. She graduated from Mobridge High School in 1973, attended college in Denver, and attained her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from South Dakota State University. Barbara married Ricky Martinez on April 9, 1982 in Colorado. She worked as a program manager of developmentally disabled services at Goodwill Industries in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Bruce Barton.
