Benjamin L. 'Ben' Porter, 63, of 1318 Crane Ave., died Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at Mary Lanning Hospital.

Services will be Friday, January 26, 2001; 11:00 A.M. at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John L. Ross officiating. Burial will be Friday, January 26, 2001; 2:30 P.M. in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Kensington, Kansas.

Benjamin L. 'Ben' Porter was born May 26, 1937 in Lincoln County, Kansas to Charles Walter & Treva Irene (Baker) Porter. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to Smith Center, Kansas and then to David City, Nebraska at the age of 12. He graduated from David City High School, David City, Nebraska in 1955. He attended Kearney State College until 1959 and then began working in the appliance department for Sears in Kearney, Nebraska. In 1965, he moved to Hastings, Nebraska and worked for Big G Appliance & Home Entertainment. He later worked for Hoover Vacuum and then became manager of the Eagles Club for many years. On May 2, 1971 he married Priscilla Seemann at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kensington, Kansas. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Benjamin L. 'Ben' Porter was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial maybe given to The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
