Benjamin Schumacher

Juniata resident, Benjamin Mark Schumacher, 14, of 1885 S. Wanda Avenue, died Monday, May 22, 2006 in Adams County as the result of an automobile accident.

Rosary will be Thursday, May 25, 2006; 7:30 P.M. at Assumption Catholic Church, Roseland, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 26, 2006; 10:00 A.M. St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Roseland, Nebraska.

Benjamin was born August 29, 1991 in Valentine, Nebraska to Robert J. & Glenda K. (Edwards) Schumacher. He was raised in the Ainsworth, Nebraska area until moving with his family to Adams County, Nebraska in 1996. As a member of Assumption Catholic Church he was an altar server and a member of CYO. He was a freshman at Kenesaw High School and participated in football, basketball, track, and wrestling. In track he was the record holder in the 100 meter dash at Kenesaw Junior High School. He was vice-president of the 8th grade class and president elect of the freshman class. He was on the "A" Honor Roll, a band member, and a Math Counts participant. He was secretary of South Adams 4-H Club, member of Boy Scout Troop #205 and a member of the Kenesaw American Legion Baseball team.
