Berdena Kluver

Hastings resident, Berdena A. Kluver, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, April 23, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, April 22, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

Berdena was born July 13, 1925 in Hastings, Nebraska to Cecil & Flora (McDowell) Terwey. She graduated from Hastings High School. Berdena married Rudy Goldenstein on November 27, 1942. He was killed in action on July 8, 1944 in World War II. She then married Frederick Kluver on May 9, 1946 in Norton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2005. She started working on the switchboard at the Hastings Regional Center in 1961 until she retired in 1988. She volunteered at the Golden Friendship Center from 1993 until 2005, and was a member of the Adams County Moonshiners Band.

Berdena was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Rudy Goldenstein and Frederick Kluver; sister, Rita DeBoer; and grandson, Logan Kluver.
