Hastings resident, Bernhard 'Ben' Fobben, 83, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Monday, April 11, 2005; 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. William G. Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Fobben was born October 29, 1921 in Leer, Germany to Antje (Korrelvink) & Sander Fobben. He was a pilot in WWII and immigrated to the United States in 1953. With his brother Siegfried, he owned and operated Fobben Diesel Service for 45 years. He married Zelma Gruis in Hastings, Nebraska in1955. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Eagles, Four Rivers Sportsman and a seven-year member of the Airport Authority Board.
Mr. Fobben was preceded in death by his parents, one brother & one sister.
