Betty Derrickson

Hastings resident, Betty J. Derrickson, 59, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, October 19, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Rob Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Betty was born July 22, 1953 in Hastings, Nebraska to John & Barbara (Borrell) Janssen. She married Mike Derrickson on December 22, 1973 in Lexington, Nebraska. Betty attended Grace Baptist Church in Hastings and worked in the food service at Good Samaritan Village.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Janssen; step-mother, Nita Janssen; and nephew, Dean Drake.
