Hastings resident, Betty J. Hinzmann, 88, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village, Perkins Pavilion.
Rosary will be Tuesday, April, 23, 2013; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Betty was born on October 24, 1924 at Lawrence, Nebraska to Eugene & Lily (Lurk) Gerhart. She attended school in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. Betty married Ted Hinzmann in 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1988. They moved to Hastings in 1955 and Betty was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society. Betty worked for the Hastings Catholic Schools for 39 years in the lunch program.
Betty J. Hinzmann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Hinzmann; daughter, Sharon Sazama; brothers, Eugene Gerhart and Charles Gerhart; and sister, Midge Fleming.
