Betty Stone

Hastings resident, Betty G. Stone, 88, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice. Visitation will be Sunday, September 2, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M., Monday, September 3, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Betty was born May 28, 1924 in Hayland, Nebraska to Charles S. & Anna M. (Koler) Borrell. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1941. Betty married Harold M. Schmidt on October 11, 1948; he preceded her in death on June 21, 1964. She married Kenneth L. Stone on August 9, 1965; he preceded her in death on January 24, 2009. Betty worked at Dutton-Lainson Company in the factory before she retired. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Harold M. Schmidt and Kenneth L. Stone; three brothers, Sam Borrell, Art Borrell, and Leonard Borrell; one sister, Barbara Janssen; and sister-in-law, Doris Borrell.
