Beverly Riese

Hastings resident, Beverly K. "Bev" Riese, was called home to our Lord on June 6, 2016 at the age of 71 while surrounded by her family at Bryan Health Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Sunday, June 12, 2016; 5:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 13, 2016; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be Monday, June 13, 2016; 1:30 P.M. in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata. Memorials may be given to the Bev Riese Memorial which will be distributed among her favorite local charities. Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, June 12, 2016; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Bev was born on April 27, 1945 to Dale & Dorothy (Helzer) Sergeant. She was born and raised in Juniata, Nebraska but lived in Hastings, Nebraska most of her life. Bev graduated from Juniata High School in 1963. Bev married Ronald Riese on May 7, 1966 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Together they had two children, Michael and Mark. Bev was a devote catholic and attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings. She worked as a bookkeeper for Juniata elevator for many years and then owned and operated Bev Riese Bookkeeping which served many businesses in Hastings and surrounding communities. Bev's greatest joys in life were her faith in her Lord and Savior and her grandchildren. She loved being with her grandchildren, talking with them and watching each of them grow.

Bev was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dale & Dorothy Sergeant; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray & Bernadine Riese; and her special pet, Midnight.
