Beverly Saathoff

Hastings resident Beverly A. Saathoff, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Jack Kirk officiating. Burial is 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Naponee Cemetery in Naponee, NE. Visitation is 1-6 p.m. Sunday with the family present 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.

Beverly was born January 4, 1936, in Brady, NE to Daris J. & Mildred (Taylor) Bunch. She graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1953 and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in home economics in 1957. Beverly married Frederick J. Saathoff on December 30, 1956, in Red Cloud, NE; he preceded her in death in 1997.

Beverly was a homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a past member of the Sweet Adelines, current member of Alcoholics Anonymous support group, served on the church evangelism board, was a church choir member and LWML member. She also served for funerals, was involved in quilting and flowers at Peace. Beverly enjoyed playing cards, attending symphony concerts and local musical events. She was an avid animal and nature lover, she could identify most any flower or tree when she was asked. She had a great love for her family and friends and was friendly to anyone she met.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick J. Saathoff; son, Ronald Saathoff; sister, Barbara Tupper; and cherished brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
