Billy "Bill" Niles

Hastings resident Billy L. “Bill” Niles, 77, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.

Memorial Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Father Don Buhrman officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to the Billy L. Niles Memorial Fund. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Bill was born November 17, 1940, in Pawnee, KS to Dave E. & Helen F. (Jantzen) Niles. He attended high school and received his GED through the military. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from January 6, 1959 to December 14, 1962. He married Connie Buhrman on September 21, 1973.

Bill worked as a farmhand. He loved working on the farm and with the livestock.  Bill loved playing baseball and softball, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher; seven siblings; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Murrain and Jean Buhrman; and in-laws, Leonard and Mary Buhrman.
