Former Hastings resident, Blanche Irene Hesman, 88, of Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Blue Hill Care Center.
Services will be Monday, October 18, 2004; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska, with Pastor Frank Kerkemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska.
Mrs. Hesman was born April 4, 1916 in Adams County, Nebraska to Pearl & Gertrude (Bohlen) Fry. She married George Hesman on August 11, 1936 in Clay Center, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1992. They farmed in the Blue Hill, Nebraska area and she was a salesperson for ConStan Industries, later Jeunique out of California for 20 years where she was a District Manager for the company. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1980 and joined Zion Lutheran Church and later First St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was a very active member. She belonged to several bowling leagues and was a past 4-H leader.
Mrs. Hesman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, brother, Ervin Fry, sister, Esther Carpenter and a granddaughter, Julie Dack.
