Bobby Scribner

Bobby Lee Scribner, 69, of 1336 West 9th Street, Hastings, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Art Schakat officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.; Monday, October 5, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M.; Tuesday, October 6, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., with the family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.; and Wednesday, October 7, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family.

Bobby was born February 6, 1940 in Aurora, Nebraska to Albert Benjamin & Vera Mildred (Jones) Scribner. He lived in the Stockham and Aurora area until 1951 and moved to Hastings where he attended school and lived for the rest of his life. He was joined in holy matrimony with Marlyn Butterbaugh on February 11, 1962. He worked as an assistant manager for Kings Food Host Corporation in the 1960's and 1970's. Then he worked for Coca Cola Company and Woodward's Disposal Service. He became disabled in 1976, and then provided transportation services for other disabled persons for the Health and Human Services Office. He was in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Anyone who knew Bobby was aware of how much he enjoyed doing for others. He liked to joke and tease. He was a good listener and loved people. He enjoyed fellowship with The Allens of Hastings coffee group.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.
