Bonnie Pavelka

Hastings resident, Bonnie Lou Pavelka, 83, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at her home.

Rosary will be Monday, August 3, 2015; 6:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 4, 2015; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice . Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2015; 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 3, 2015; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Bonnie Lou Pavelka was born November 15, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska to Melvin & Dora (Speers) Martin. Bonnie grew up in Hastings, Nebraska and attended school here. In 1948, Bonnie married Frank Pavelka. Of this union, six children were born. Bonnie was a homemaker most of her life and did daycare later on. She had a great sense of humor on the right day. Bonnie loved to head east to the boats for a day of gambling with her husband in the earlier years and with her children later in life. She was a master of crossword puzzles and enjoyed Saturday morning coffee with her kids and grandkids for the past 40 years. Bonnie also loved her magnificent flower garden, which Dianne has expanded over the past couple of years. Bonnie was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank who died in 2013; parents; three sisters, Hazel Ransom, Beulah Thaut, and Virginia Fitch; and two brothers, Mike Martin and Melvin Martin.
