Carl E. Hemberger, 77, of 835 N. Saunders, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at BryanLGH Medical Center West, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, July 12, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Donald E. Boeschen officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings veterans organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Carl E. Hemberger was born February 22, 1925 in Holstein, Nebraska to John & Anna (Kaiser) Hemberger. He served twice in the United States Army from December 28, 1948 to December 28, 1949 in the 2nd Division Corp of Engineers and again during the Korean War from October 28, 1950 to November 26, 1951 as a staff sergeant. On August 9, 1953, he married Marlys Kort at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He was a mechanic for 38 years for Hastings Motor Truck, retiring in 1990. He was a life long area resident and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He served on the church Board of Trustee's and Board of Education. He was also a member of V.F.W.
Carl E. Hemberger was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a grandchild.
