Carmen was born August 28, 1999, to Laura Larreau and Damir A. Brdar, Jr. in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Carmen had a flare for life, even at her young age. Her determination and hard work guided her to graduate high school a year early and start her college career at the age of 16. She had a passion and gift to want to help others. She had been in college studying nursing and had the dream of becoming a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Upon the arrival of her beautiful daughter, Isla Kay Eulene, she decided to put school off for a year to work and spend time with her.
Carmen had a very creative mind and free spirit. To all who knew her, she would light up a room with her humor, her smile and you could just feel the love that she spread to everyone. She had a talent for makeup, gloving, making funny videos, writing poetry, reading, studying psychology, drawing, and painting. Her love for animals was tremendous, whether it be for her dog and cat she has had since she was a small child or the bird that was injured on the front porch that she wanted to bring in the house and nurse back to health. Her ability to love and forgive was like none other. She had an incredible impact on every person she ever came in contact with, whether it was the friends/family she saw every day or the homeless vet she bought lunch for on Memorial Day and then took him to the cemetery to place flags on the graves of service men and women who have passed away.
Carmen worked very hard to get her Certified Nursing Assistant license and Certified Medication Assistant License this spring and summer and had recently worked at Perkins Pavilion at Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village.
Carmen was preceded in death by her father, Damir; grandmothers, Sharon Connor and Leslie Jaquez; grandfather, Larry Larreau.
She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Isla Kay Eulene; mother, Laura Larreau; grandfather, Jim Connor; grandmother, Mary Derauf of McCook, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her friends she always called family.
