Graduated from Hastings High School in 1957 and started working at Mary Lanning Hospital as secretary in the lab department. This led to 30+ years working as a lab technician at Mary Lanning, Lincoln General and David City clinic from 1957 - 1989. She married Gaylord Crawford February 14, 1960. They met after a church service in Rosemont. She knew then he was the one she would marry. Their daughter Shelly Lynn was born in Hastings on February 6, 1961. Scott Lee was born July 17, 1963 in Lexington. They lived in Wahoo and David City where her husband worked for the State Patrol for seven years. They moved back to Hastings in 1971 and became owners of Willow Lake Fish Hatchery started by her father. She was a member of North Shore Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed grinding her own wheat to make whole wheat bread. Other joys were teaching and attending women's bible studies and playing the guitar. She was a great encourager and supporter of her husband and family. She loved having her two granddaughters and later her seven great grans come to visit. The greatest desire of her heart is to see her family come to a closer walk with the Lord. Her strong faith sustained her during her 26+ years with Parkinson's disease. Carolyn never complained during these long years of suffering with Parkinson's, this testified of her strong relationship with the Lord Jesus! She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
