Hastings resident, Carolyn R. Erlandson, 79, died, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hildreth, Nebraska at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. with family present 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Butler Volland Funeral Home; and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the family.
Mrs. Erlandson was born October 9, 1931 in Geneva, Illinois to Alvar W. & Leila ( Carr) Lindahl. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1949, Geneva, Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois in 1953. She taught elementary school education in St. Charles, Illinois and Omaha, Nebraska. She was the Head Start Teacher in Central City, Nebraska from 1980 to 1990. On July 1, 1961 she married Rev. John C. Erlandson and he preceded her in death in May of 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Jacob.
Mrs. Erlandson is survived on this day by one son, Mark and his wife Shawla Erlandson and children, Josh of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jasmin and Jacy of Junction City, Kansas. Three daughters, Lisa Erlandson of Florida, Sara Johnson and husband, Joel and son, Max of Hastings, Nebraska; and daughter Michelle Erlandson of Hastings, Nebraska. Brother, Myron Lindahl and wife, Janet of Hermantown, Minnesota.
