Carolyn Johnson

Hastings resident, Carolyn V. Johnson, 68, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at her home.

Services will be Saturday, November 26, 2016; 10:30 A.M. at North Shore Assembly of God Church, Hastings with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 2016; 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Carolyn was born May 1, 1948 in Camilla, Georgia to Tommy & Marie (Johnson) Gaines. She graduated in 1967 from Monterey High School, Monterey, California. Carolyn married Marshall Johnson on May 1, 1997 in Hastings, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on August 7, 2001.

She was employed by Hastings Regional Center from 1980 until present as a scheduling coordinator for Department of Health & Human Services. Carolyn attended North Shore Assembly of God Church and was a member of African American Awareness Committee, where she served as treasurer.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommy Gaines, Jr., Samuel Gaines, Rosa Perkins, Cleveland Hayes, Glen Johnson, and Robert Johnson.
