Catherine Rodgers

Catherine 'Kay' Rodgers, 80, died Friday, July 20, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Kansas following a brief illness.

Rosary service will be Tuesday, July 24, 2001; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 25, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Catherine 'Kay' Rodgers was born January 6, 1921 in Heartwell, Nebraska to Michael & Mae (Noel) Horan. She graduated from Heartwell High School in 1937 and Hastings College of Business in 1940. She went to Washington, D.C. prior to the start of WWII and was employed at the War Department. She quickly moved into middle management positions and stayed with the department until returning to Hastings, Nebraska in 1951. She married Robert 'Bob' Rodgers in 1946. After living 33 years in Hastings, Nebraska, they moved to Topeka where they resided for the past 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Topeka, Kansas.

Catherine 'Kay' Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents.
