Charlene Rutt

Hastings resident, Charlene Marie Rutt, 79, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014; 1:30 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Mary Lanning Healthcare Hospice.

Charlene was born November 17, 1934, in Hastings, Nebraska to Richard C. & Valeska C. (Haase) Lingelbach. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1952. Charlene married Donald L. Rutt on July 31, 1955, in Hastings; he preceded her in death on March 24, 1999. She was employed by the Department of Labor as an interviewer until her retirement on December 31, 1996. Charlene was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, PEO, National Association of Retired State Employees, charter board member of Hastings Literacy Council, Altrusa International, was past President of PTA at Morton Elementary School and an honorary life member, and taught Sunday School and Confirmation classes as well as being very active and volunteering at church.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers-in-law, Dr. Fred J. Rutt and G. Donovan McLane.
