Former Hastings resident, Charles L. 'Charlie' Andreasen, 83 of Tiffany Square, Grand Island, Nebraska, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at Tiffany Square.
A going away reception will be held at the Hastings Masonic Center, 411 North Hastings Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska, Tuesday, February 19, 2008; 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Masonic Bodies in care of Jeff Andreasen, 600 East 39th Street, Hastings, Nebraska, 68901. Book signing will be Saturday, February 16, 2008; 9:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M. & Monday, February 18, 2008; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Charles L. 'Charlie' Andreasen was born February 2, 1925 in Kennard, Nebraska to Elmer & Ethel (Anderson) Andreasen. He graduated from Kennard High School and served in the Army Air Force during WWII from July 2, 1943 until October 23, 1945. He flew 37 missions over Germany in a B-17 bomber, an accomplishment he was proud of. On August 25, 1950, he married Jacquelyn 'Jackie' Blois in McCook, Nebraska. After working at Armour Meat Company in Omaha, he moved to Hastings in 1953 and started Hastings Meat Supply, Inc. Charlie loved the meat business and all who worked in the industry. Upon retirement, he and Jackie traveled the United States in their motor home, visiting friends, old and new. While in Hastings, Charlie was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Club and was past president of Lochland Country Club.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents.
