Hastings resident, Charles "Buck" R. Bucknell, 81, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Charles was born October 3, 1929 in Jewell County, Kansas to Claude & Edna (Bourne) Bucknell. He moved with his family as a young boy to Hardy, Nebraska; Lawrence, Nebraska; and then to Hastings, Nebraska where he graduated from Hastings High School in 1948. His parents divorced and he was raised by his step-father Bill Feldhausen. Charles was in the Nebraska National Guard for eight years. On February 20, 1949 he married Dorla M. Reiber. He worked for the Naval Ammunition Depot, Roberts Dairy, and also drove truck delivering beer. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Lintz; and brother, Tom Bucknell.
