Ayr resident, Charles J. "Lefty" Haney, 82, went home to the Lord and his parents and siblings Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska with his family by his side.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Charles was born January 15, 1934 in Davis County, Iowa to Guy Wilbur & Minnie Marie (Sloan) Haney. He married Myrtle Mae Lynstad on July 24, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. Charles was a carpenter all his life and worked for Bilt-Rite Homes-Brentwood Homes and Plainsman Construction of Juniata. He liked playing horseshoes, bowling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Charles loved his children and grandchildren very much.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rex and Cecil; sisters, Nola "Iris", Waneta "Ruth", and Lucille; sons-in-law, Kenny Pritts and Byron Jeremias; and two sisters-in-law.
