Hastings resident, Charles Glen 'Chuck' Patton, 68, of 3231 Lakepark Lane died Friday, February 6, 2009, at St. Francis Skilled Care Unit, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 2:00 P.M. at the United Church of Christ, Clay Center, Nebraska. Burial, with military rites, will be at Westlawn Cemetery, Grand Island, Nebraska. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, February 9, 2009; 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., with family present from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Saint Francis Cancer Treatment Center or Saint Francis Medical Center Hospice.
Mr. Patton was born December 23, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas to Glen & Ruth (Voshell) Patton. He served in the United States Air Force from February 1, 1961 to January 16, 1965. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the University of Nebraska in 1968. Chuck was a Field Representative/Mediator with Travelers Insurance in the Omaha, Houston, and San Antonio areas before his retirement. On August 3, 1996 he married Elda (Hoins) Peterson; they lived in Clay Center and Fairfield, before moving to Hastings in August 2008. He was a member of the Clay Center Community Club, Clay Center Lions Club, and Fairfield Community Club. He attended church at the United Church of Christ in Clay Center.
Mr. Patton was preceded in death by his parents.
