Christy "Chris" Terwey

Hastings resident Christy Jean “Chris” (Lebsack) Terwey, 65, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018, at her home.

Celebration of Life is 2-4 p.m. Saturday, November 3, at the Barrett Alumni Center at Hastings College in Hastings. Private family burial. Memorials may be given to Heartland Pet Connection or Start Over Rover.

Chris was born on January 6, 1953, to Samuel & Phyllis (Gettman) Lebsack. She was raised in McCook, NE and graduated from McCook High School in 1971. Chris moved to Hastings in 1975 where she met her husband, Don Terwey. Chris and Don were married on April 30, 1977. They had two sons, Trevor and Derek. Chris had a career at Hastings College in Perkins Library from 1975 to 2015. She had many great friends at the College and enjoyed the students.

Chris adored her grandkids and loved to spoil them rotten. She also had a love for cats, sweets, and collecting antiques. Her favorite season was fall. She enjoyed the colors, Halloween and Thanksgiving. She will be remembered as loyal, trustworthy and fun.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Don Terwey, Sr.
