Cindy Christenson

Hastings resident Cindy L. Christenson, 61, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015; 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Hastings with Rev. Dr. James W. Gordon officiating. Private burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery at a later date. Book signing will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Grand Island Humane Society.

Cindy was born April 27, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles & Menelia ( Johnson) Dingus. She moved with her family because of her father's employment. Cindy graduated from Hickman High, Columbia, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri. She moved to Hastings in 1980 for a job opportunity working for Skip Foote. Cindy married Eric Christenson on August 28, 1982. She was the co-owner and founder of Janitor, Inc. and Christenson Carpet Cleaning. Cindy was a member of the Grand Island Saddle Club and Liederkranz. Her volunteer work included Grand Island Humane Society, Sunday School Teacher, Girl Scouts, March of Dimes, American Heart Association and helping with her children's activities at Hawthorne School.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Debi Lee.
