Clarence Schliep

Fairfield resident, Clarence "Art" A. Schliep, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014; 11:00 A.M. at Community Presbyterian Church, Fairfield with Pastor Steve Deines officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Book signing will be Friday, January 10, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Art was born July 13, 1928 in Clay County, Nebraska north of Fairfield to Edward & Leta (Dana) Schliep. He attended school and graduated from Fairfield High School. Art married Deloris J. Knox on August 3, 1947 in Hastings, Nebraska. He farmed and owned a feed lot for many years. Art was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield and the Eagles in Hastings. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Art enjoyed attending the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going to the Nebraska football games.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dana Schliep.
