Clarence Schneider

Hastings resident, Clarence John Schneider, 81, of, Perkins Pavilion, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Perkins Pavilion.

Rosary will be Friday, October 15, 2004; 6:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 16, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Veterans Organizations will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Schneider was born May 9, 1923 in Lawrence, Nebraska, to Matt & Gertrude (Bencken) Schneider. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1940 and served in the United States Army during WWII from July 27, 1944 to July 31, 1946. He moved from Lawrence to Hastings in 1947. On March 30, 1948, he married Gloria 'Katy' McPherson. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2004. He worked for Dutton Lainson for 30 years, retiring as foreman of the shipping department. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, a Golden Age Eagle member and a past commander of American Legion Post #11.

Mr. Schneider was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.
