Hastings resident, Cleo D. Coe, 83, of Perkins Pavilion, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion.
Memorial services will be Thursday, December 4, 2008; 1:30 P.M. at Butler- Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Book signing will be Wednesday, December 3, 2008; 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. and Thursday, December 4, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. A memorial will be established.
Mr. Coe was born September 8, 1925 in Orleans, Nebraska to Benjamin & Mabel (Bell) Coe. He graduated from Stamford High School, Stamford, Nebraska. He entered the United States Army on August 5, 1946 and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1947. On November 21, 1946, he married Phyllis A. Dedrick in Stockton, Kansas. He moved to Hastings in 1950 and was a fireman for the Hastings Fire Department before retiring. After retirement he was a custodian for First Presbyterian Church where he was also a member.
Mr. Coe was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Susan K. Coe, an infant brother, Clifford and brothers, Milo & Lester Coe.
