Connie Halloran

March 7, 1943 — February 9, 2018

Hastings resident Connie R. Halloran, 74, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at her home.

Services are Friday, February 16, 2018; 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Hastings with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating, with a luncheon to follow. Following the luncheon, burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation is Thursday, February 15, 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. with family present 5:00 - 7:00. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hastings Public Schools Foundation, First United Methodist Church or Pioneer Spirit Trail.

Connie was born March 7, 1943, in Hastings, NE to Ray E. & Gwen E. (Strickler) Gaymon. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1961 and Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1965. Connie married Richard L. Halloran on June 26, 1965.

Connie was a teacher for Hastings Public Schools (Alcott), YWCA Preschool, Adams Central Schools (Adams Central East) and worked at Hastings Public Library. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, played tower bells and served on various committees. Connie was a member of PEO Chapter GZ, YMCA, and was a former board member for YWCA. She was former President of Hastings Mrs. Jaycees, former member of Hastings High School Band Parents where she was a Board of Director and trip sponsor, Hastings Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors, and Hastings Literacy Program Board of Directors.

One of Connie's greatest delights was reading stories to young children, whether it be in an organized "story hour", or to her own grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Rosalie Gaymon.
