Connie Nickel

Hastings resident, Connie Nickel, 67, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Monday, June 12, 2017; 10:00 A.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be Monday, June 12, 2017; 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Axtell. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. with family present 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home; and one hour prior to service at the church.

Connie was born January 16, 1950, in Kearney, Nebraska to Gerald E. & Velora A. (Parker) Nickel. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1968 and St. Francis School of Nursing in Grand Island in 1971. Connie was employed as an obstetrics nurse for Mercy Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Greg and Keith; one sister, Sherry Freed; and one nephew, Bryan Beiriger.
