Hastings resident, Cora C. Loutzenheiser, 88, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 8, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. F. Cole Fowler officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Northeast Community College Foundation, Norfolk, Nebraska or Hastings College Foundation, Hastings, Nebraska.
Cora was born April 30, 1922 in Oakland, California to Samuel & Katherine (Cross) Russell. She graduated from Piedmont High School in Piedmont, California and went on to graduate from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. On January 5, 1946 she married Edwin Loutzenheiser in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a housewife and worked at the Kaiser Shipyard Pharmacy in Richmond, California during World War II. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and PEO. She enjoyed working with the Rotary Youth Exchange where she worked with exchange students and other youth. She also enjoyed playing golf.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Weldon Russell.
