Hastings resident, Dale Asmus, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, November 26, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church.
Dale was born October 23, 1918 in Hall County, Nebraska to Oscar & Margaret (Crandell) Asmus. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1936. On September 17, 1939, he married Etta Zimmerman; she preceded him in death. He entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on October 18, 1945. He married Dorothy Benker in 1990; she preceded him in death in 2008. He worked more than 40 years as a chief dispatcher for Nebraska Public Power District. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M., and the Tehama Temple.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith Asmus; and one brother.
