Dale J. Peters

Hastings resident Dale J. Peters, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home with family after a three year battle with cancer.

Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Faith Lutheran Church, 837 Chestnut Avenue, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. The burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church. Dale was born February 3, 1950, in Nelson, NE to Ray and Joyce (Worrell) Peters. He attended school in Angus and Nelson, NE. Dale married Shirley Schleufer on June 2, 1967.

Dale was an over the road trucker and enjoyed it for 48 years as an owner/operator. He leased to different trucking companies. Dale was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed attending his granddaughters’ events, and later in life enjoyed spending time with his great-granddaughters. Dale and Shirley traveled many years on his Harley motorcycle to different states. After retirement, they enjoyed camping in Nebraska, Colorado, and South Dakota. Dale and Shirley spent winters in Weslaco, TX and made many friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vicky Kriger; brother, Gary Peters; brother-in-law, Roy Stutzman; and in-laws, Lester & Virginia Schleufer.
