Dale Snow

Glenvil resident, Dale D. Snow, 91, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his home.

Services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain James Cooke officiating. Burial with military rites by Glenvil American Legion will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska . Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Blue Valley Cemetery.

Dale was born August 5, 1920 in Glenvil, Nebraska to John E. & Sophia (Kahman) Snow. He graduated from Glenvil High School in 1937. Dale married Betty Berg on November 16, 1941; she preceded him in death. He married Cleo J. Steiger on September 10, 1969. Dale served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from October 26, 1942 through January 6, 1947; and farmed in the area for many years. He was a member of the Fairfield American Legion until 1965. Dale helped start the Haase - Buhr American Legion Post #26, Glenvil, Nebraska in 1966 and was a life time member. He was a post, district and state commander (1976) of the American Legion. Other memberships include Eagles, V.F.W. and NRD Board. Dale was a softball coach for the Glenvil Girls Softball Team for many years.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and son, Larry Snow.
