Dana Boyd

Hastings resident, Dana Helen Boyd, 49, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings.

Rosary will be Sunday, April 3, 2016; 4:30 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with a reception to follow in Theisen Hall. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 4, 2016; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan and Father Adam Sughroue officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in remembrance of Dana Helen Boyd to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday April 3, 2016; 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to rosary and mass at the church.

Dana was born August 25, 1966 to Robert & Sharon (Smelker) Rhoades in Benkelman, Nebraska. She graduated from Benkelman High School and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan, Lincoln with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Finance. She married Michael Boyd on June 9, 1990 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. She worked at City National Bank for eight years where she held many positions and became Vice President of Operations. She belonged to Business and Professional Women, and also Hastings Women of today. In 1998 Dana stayed home to follow her one true passion in life of being a mom and she taught piano lessons for many years. She was an active volunteer at St. Michael's School and played the piano and sang at church. She was a member of PEO Chapter GZ, a member of St. Michael's Altar Society, a past YMCA Board member, and was very active in B.L.U.E. for the Hastings Catholic Schools. Dana was very involved in all aspects of their business, Nebraskaland Distributors.

Dana was preceded in death by her grandparents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry & Blue Boyd; and brother-in-law, Steve Boyd.
